Basavaraj Bommai and Mrinal Hebbalkar File Nominations
Haveri/Belagavi: Former Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai filed his nomination as the BJP candidate for the Haveri-Gadag Lok Sabha constituency on Monday. Mrinal Hebbalkar, son of Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar, filed his nomination as the Congress candidate for the Belagavi Lok Sabha seat. Hebbalkar is contesting against former CM Jagadish Shettar.
Basavaraj Bommai was awarded the ticket by his party at the last moment, as former minister KS Eshwarappa’s son, KE Kantesh, was demanding the BJP ticket. Bommai is also an MLA from the Shiggaon constituency. Congress has fielded GS Gaddadevarmath’s son, Anand Gaddadevarmath, from this constituency.
